Discover the unmatched peace and solitude of fly-fishing in Sweet Grass Ranch’s rivers, creeks, and mountain lakes. The clear waters and deep shadowed pools of Sweet Grass Creek provide the perfect habitat for rainbow and brown trout. Guests can ride or hike up by the Sweet Grass Falls or to beautiful mountain lakes where rainbow and golden trout abound. Families will also enjoy our onsite ponds full of brookies, rainbow and the occasional monster brown trout. While we are always happy to cook your catch for dinner or breakfast, catch and release fishing is encouraged.
A day of fishing can be arranged on the Yellowstone and one of neighbors has great fishing by permission, with a small rod fee.
A fishing license is required and can be purchased in Big Timber on Sunday as you arrive.
